Marieli Alfonzo

Marieli has been part of Roche Colombia since September 2020. She leads the transformation process of the company's pharmaceutical operation in the country, applying a totally customer- and patient-centric approach, working from innovation and access to health with a portfolio of advanced medicines in therapeutic areas such as oncology, orphan diseases and neurosciences. In addition, she works with different actors in the healthcare ecosystem to provide the best treatment for each person.

Her 20-year career in the pharmaceutical industry brings together more than 10 years of leadership in regional teams, as well as an outstanding performance as General Manager in several Latin American countries, where she has been responsible for high-level teams.

Marieli obtained a degree in Public Accounting from the Santa María University and a specialization in Business Administration from Andres Bello Catholic University with a mention in Finance and Marketing, Venezuela. She has also successfully completed the Creative Marketing program at the University of Toronto and the Executive Leadership Program at the University of California at Berkeley.

Marieli joins Roche after 5 years in senior roles at Abbvie, including most recently as Country Lead Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. Prior to this promotion at Abbvie, she held various positions with increasing responsibility, including Country Manager Chile; General Manager Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela and General Manager Venezuela. Before that, Marieli worked for 14 years for The Sanofi Group in various senior and strategic level positions such as General Manager of Genzyme, Venezuela; General Manager of Sanofi Pasteur, Venezuela; Director of Operations Sanofi Pasteur, Andean Countries, Central America and the Caribbean; Director of Finance Sanofi Pasteur, Andean Region, Central America and the Caribbean and Industrial Comptroller, Venezuela.
